Sometimes, you Eat the Ground
The other day, one of the old Russian "Bear" bombers (one of the ones that had been evacuated to the Russian Far East, after the Ukrainian "Spiderweb" atttacks), suffered multiple engine failures shortly after takeoff, and crashed, killing most of the crew.
Well, today it was revealed that the bomber in question was on its way to participate in another air raid on Ukraine, being fully loaded with Kh-series missiles at the time.
And Ukrainian Intelligence is taking credit for sabotaging it.

This film got a lot of bad press (mostly, as far as we can tell, over the lead actress's attempt to emulate the career choices of Brie Larson), and was poorly received, but you never know, so we had to see for ourselves.
Woke?
Yes. Lots of snide digs at masculinist society, and girls beating up guys who are Muuch bigger than they are (sometimes by the roomful).
But all of that is really no sillier than any of the other scfi elements.
And, contrary to mantra, we have seen woke media that was entertaining.
For example, of you ignore Brie Larson's offscreen nonsense, "Captain Marvel" was actually mostly a pretty good story: An amnesiac soldier discovers that she is serving a fascist theocracy, and then has to decide what to do with her life.
Exposition
If you don't know the canon, Supergirl ("Kara") is the cousin of Superman, who was also sent to Earth from the dying planet Krypton.
In this version, she is not adjusting well, and goes off in an insterstellar Winnabego, to slum around the planets of red suns, where she is weaker, because she can get drunk more easily there.
And with her is her trusty mutt, also from Krypton.
She encounters a young girl, bent on an impossible quest for revenge, helps her out briefly, then blows her off.
But then her space mobile home gets hijacked, by the very same bad guys the kid is after - and her dog gets poisoned.
So, kid in tow, she sets out to find these bad guys, retrieve the antidote, and get back to her dying dogo within 3 days.
Details
A lot of the action sequences are done in what we refer to as "Bourne style": To save on stunt and effects budgets, they are done very fast, in dim lighting, so it's hard to tell exactly what is going on. This is not our preference; your mileage may vary.
We would say the casting was pretty good.
The actors all do a pretty good job with the silly comic book dialogue.
And it's not all silly. Kara's quietly emotional monologues about her tragic past are well written, and perfectly delivered.
Is kinda long, though. Nearly 2 hours.
Conclusion
Can't really reach one, as, try as we might, none of us were sufficiently interested to watch more than halfway through. It seemed a passable way to blow an evening, if you have literally nothing better to do.
