26. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.1 Corinthians 15:26; KJV. Paul's teaching in chapter 15 is the foundation of all the New Testament. Paul explains the gospel, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the future resurrection of believers. Paul teaches the good news, euangelion, in Greek. The Christian life begins and continues with the gospel. We have been rescued from our sins by the sacrifice of Christ our Savior. Our resurrection on the last day is the proof of our salvation. Trust Christ as the living Savior, not a dead teacher. Christianity is more than moral living; it is eternal hope. Live with eternity in view. We come to today's verse: death will be destroyed forever. Death is temporary for believers. We can face death with eternal hope and without any fear. God's plan ends in victory and restores perfect order. Live for the kingdom. Stand firm in the gospel every day. The lesson: the gospel is historical, witnessed, and trustworthy. Salvation is through Christ alone. Death for a believer is the beginning of eternal life with Jesus. God's plan is orderly, victorious, and eternal. Amen.
