Twenty-five years after the towers fell, New York handed City Hall to a democratic socialist who built his campaign in mosques and put the city’s first Muslim mayor in charge. Governor Hochul then stood at an Islamic center in a hijab as if that image were just another photo-op. The people who died on 9/11, and the firefighters who ran toward the fire, deserved better than this.Mamdani swore his oath on Qurans and made Ramadan a signature of his administration. Hochul covered her head to speak at the same kind of venue. That is not “inclusion.” It is a public rewrite of who this city belongs to, delivered while the families of the murdered still mark the date.A city that once buried thousands of its own now treats the attack as ancient history and the ideology that inspired it as just another constituency. Shame on every voter who decided the graves no longer mattered.
