President Trump just launched the United States Space Academy.
A real federal academy to train America's next generation of space leaders.
No, it doesn't open tomorrow. And that's the point.
Trump's August 28 executive order creates a NASA-led presidential commission and gives it 120 days to deliver the full blueprint. Governance, curriculum, admissions, permanent location, graduate service obligations, partnerships, legislative needs, implementation schedule.
That is not branding. That is how you build an institution that lasts.
The mission is to combine rigorous technical education with leadership, discipline, and public service. To produce astronauts, scientists, engineers, operators, entrepreneurs, civil servants and warfighters. The people who will actually lead the Space Force and the entire American space enterprise.
Good. Because space is no longer a distant curiosity.
Our communications, navigation, missile warning systems, economy, and national security all depend on what happens above us. If America wants to remain the leading nation on Earth, it better intend to lead beyond Earth too.
Trump created the Space Force in his first term. Now he's building the human pipeline to lead it for the next 50 years. Hardware matters. Brilliant, disciplined, patriotic people matter more.
For once, Washington is thinking beyond the next election cycle. This is how a confident country behaves. It finds the next frontier, finds its best young minds, and prepares them to WIN.
It's time for America to boldly go where no man has gone before — and make sure the American flag gets there first
