BESSENT’S ECONOMIC SQUEEZE
Cartoon published 08/27/2026
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned Iran’s Islamic regime that it faces “The single greatest financial offensive ever.”
The Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, destroyed Iran’s military infrastructure, but there’s only so much air power can do—boots on the ground would be the next step, but nobody in America wants that. Instead, Bessent will use an economic squeeze. It may take time, but twisting the vise could become very effective. Iran will no longer be able to pay its military. Civilian unrest will continue to grow because their own currency is nearly worthless. It’s better that the totalitarian regime in Iran is overthrown by its own populace.
China is not happy about all of this—oil from Iran is key to its economy. Well, China will just have to wait.
Canada is objecting to the Trump/Bessent tariffs, and the Prime Minister, Mark Carney, is puffing up and acting tough. Still, he must know that for far too long that Canadian tariffs on American goods have been outrageously high—over 300 percent on dairy goods, for example. Canada has been fleecing America and previous presidents have let it go—we have been too nice to our northern neighbor and they have consistently taken advantage of us. Trump is not a nice guy and he knows the US has been on the receiving end of way too many bad deals. He’s fed up and not going to take it any more—and Bessent just may put Canada in his economic vise as well.
If Canada doesn’t like it, too bad. Maybe Trump can do more than change the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America. Perhaps he can annex Canada and make it part of the US. This would break the English globalist, royal grip on that country. We already know that Alberta would be all for it. Forget making states out of D.C. and Puerto Rico. Making Alberta our 51st state would be a welcome addition. The people there are conservative and they have plenty of oil.
