BREAKING: President Donald Trump has signed an executive order directing the U.S. government to rename Lake Ontario as Lake America. The August 27 order instructs the Interior Department and the U.S. Board on Geographic Names to update federal maps, records, contracts, and government communications within 30 days. The White House argues that the lake has played an important role in American trade, defense, energy, and the broader Great Lakes economy. The timing is getting much of the attention.
