15. I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.1 Corinthians 10:15; KJV. Paul here warns believers not to make the same mistakes that Israel repeatedly made: idolatry, immorality, complaining, and testing the Almighty Father. Their failures are examples for us. The choices we make should be to build each other up while seeking an eternal reward. Israel escaped from Egypt by God's deliverance, baptized by passing through the Red Sea with Moses, ate the spiritual bread, and drank the spiritual water, which was a picture of Christ. Yet they displeased God and fell in the desert; within 40 years, only two passed into the promised land. Enjoying spiritual blessings does not replace obedience. Confidence is good, but pride leads to destruction. God provides an escape from sin; you are never trapped by Satan. God always has a door open for you. We come to today's verse, Paul is giving his advice to the wise, and obedient, fools hurry to destruction, but the wise seek shelter in the arms of Christ our Lord and Savior. The lesson: Run from sin, flee idolatry, immorality, complaining, and testing God's patience. Stay humble and avoid everything that pulls you away from Christ. Amen.
