Marrying a 7-year-old girl is sick. He’s 58. She’s only 7 years old and doesn’t even understand what is happening to her.This is something that is permitted in some interpretations and communities operating under Islamic law, and I will never pretend it is normal or acceptable.Feminists and pro-choice women in America who defend these practices should be ashamed. You cannot claim to stand for women and girls while excusing child marriage.I don’t want child marriage normalized anywhere, including America.Call me Islamophobic if you want. Any system that permits grown men to marry little girls deserves condemnation.
