*”God Told Him To Hide His Clothes In A Rock”*By Joshua AdamsGod told Jeremiah to hide a linen garment in a rock.Days later, He told him to go dig it back up.It was ruined.And that was the sermon.Jeremiah 13 is one of those passages people can read a dozen times and never realize how close it gets to home.God said Judah was supposed to cling to Him the way that garment clung to Jeremiah.Close.Useful.Made for a purpose.Bearing His name.But they stopped listening.They followed what they wanted.They walked in the stubbornness of their own hearts.They went after other gods.And God used a ruined piece of linen to show them what they had become.That should bother us.Because most people don't wake up one morning and decide to walk away from God.It usually happens quieter than that.Prayer becomes occasional.Conviction becomes inconvenient.Obedience gets negotiated.The Bible gets opened less.Things that once troubled your spirit stop bothering you.And eventually you can still talk about God while living farther from Him than you realize.That's the part of Jeremiah 13 I can't shake.The garment wasn't created for the hole in the rock.It belonged close to the man who wore it.And you weren't created to live at a comfortable distance from God either.You can still attend church.Still quote Scripture.Still say Jesus.Still remember everything God has done for you.And still be drifting.God's warning to Judah wasn't, “You never belonged to Me.”It was that they were supposed to cling to Him...“But they would not hear.” Jeremiah 13:11Maybe the question isn't whether you believe in God.Maybe it's whether you're still close enough to hear Him.#Jeremiah13 #BibleStudy #BibleStories #ChristianLiving #JesusChrist
