A recent HISTORY article published August 21, 2026, acknowledges that Jesus and His earliest followers observed the seventh-day Sabbath, while Sunday gradually became the principal day of Christian worship. But what does the Bible teach? 📖 Exodus 20:8–11 — “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.” ✝️ Luke 4:16 — Jesus kept the Sabbath “as his custom was.” 📖 Acts 17:2 — Paul continued reasoning from Scripture on the Sabbath. 🌍 Revelation 14:7 — The final gospel call is to “worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea.” Ellen G. White wrote in The Great Controversy that: “The Sabbath will be the great test of loyalty.” The issue is not hatred toward Sunday-keeping Christians. Millions sincerely worship God on Sunday because that is what they have been taught. The question is whether our worship is ultimately governed by God's Word or human tradition.
