You truly cannot make this stuff up.During an MS Now interview with Al Sharpton, Florida State Representative Angie Nixon — a Democrat and her party's new nominee for U.S. Senate — was asked how race factors into Florida's statewide races now that Republicans have made Congressman Byron Donalds their nominee for governor. Her answer was a masterclass in saying the quiet part very, very loudly.Nixon claimed some Republicans "just can't make themselves vote for him" and are defecting to Democrat David Jolly. Then came the finale: "We're going to need all hands on deck to take down this fascist, authoritarian oligarchy that is now the Trump administration… we are literally in a civil rights moment right now. They're trying to return us back to the worst chapters of our history."So let's get this straight.Republican voters just handed their gubernatorial nomination to a Black man — one who could become Florida's first Black governor. And the left's takeaway is that those same voters are secretly too racist to vote for him, and that the GOP is dragging America back to slavery and Jim Crow.Which Republicans, exactly, are refusing to vote for the Black candidate they just nominated in a landslide? Then there's the "fascist, authoritarian oligarchy" line — delivered by a card-carrying member of the Democratic Socialists of America. Here's the timing problem. Just this summer, DSA National Political Committee member David Jenkins said out loud what the group's marketing department would rather you didn't hear: "Our goal is communism." Asked about it, DSA co-chair Ashik Siddique didn't exactly rush to deny it. And at the DSA's 2025 national convention, communist-aligned caucuses seized a majority of the governing board, then repealed the group's old ban on "democratic centralism," a Leninist organizing principle. So Nixon belongs to a movement whose own leadership now openly names communism as the destination, the ideology that gave the world the Soviet Union, Venezuela, and every gulag and party-boss oligarchy that came bundled with it.And she's on television lecturing the rest of us about "authoritarian oligarchy."You can't cry racism while the other side nominates the very candidate your theory swears they'd never support. And you can't warn about oligarchy while running with the one movement whose leaders say the quiet part into a microphone. It's pure nonsense.
