“Pay me my reparations” — that’s what this woman is demanding from white people, and she insists it isn’t charity. She says it’s a debt that’s long overdue.
“Pay me my reparations, white people.
This is not charity. This is payment on a debt that has been owed for hundreds of years and still hasn’t been paid.
Other cultures did not endure chattel slavery in America, where people were treated as property, families were torn apart, and Black people were raped, beaten, lynched, and murdered.
This country was built on the backs of Black people.
White people still benefit from the legacy of transatlantic chattel slavery, while Black Americans continue to suffer from its lasting effects, along with ongoing discrimination, displacement, and marginalization.
So pay me my reparations.”
