15. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged by no man.
1 Corinthians 2:15; KJV.
Paul is teaching that the bottom line is Christ.
Paul came not to impress with fancy words or brag about his testimony; he came simply with the gospel: Christ came as a man, died for the sins of mankind, and rose from death never to die again.
Paul taught not with human wisdom, nor did he try to sell the gospel message with tricks or gimmicks.
Just the Gospel of Christ, as he received it from Jesus, which changed lives, convicted of sin, and redeemed sinners who were given spiritual gifts.
Signs and miracles followed Paul's teaching, showing the power of God.
The deep spiritual wisdom of the Gospel is eternal, unlike the wisdom of the world, which will end with this world.
We need God's Spirit to live a Christian life.
A man knows a man because he is a man, and the Spirit, who is God, knows God and can reveal the things of God to us because He knows the Almighty and Christ.
The natural man is a man without the Spirit of God.
The natural man can never know the things of God because they are discerned by the Spirit.
We come to today's verse: a spiritual person is led by God's Spirit and judges all things. The word judge here is not right or wrong, guilty or innocence.
This word in Greek is *anakrinō*, meaning an investigation, examination, search, to scrutinize, sift, question.
We hold up all things to the light of God's word.
People without God's Spirit truly cannot understand God.
The Spirit of God gives a believer a different perspective on life, and most of the time, people will not understand you.
No person knows the mind of God, yet Paul says we have the mind of Christ.
Through the Spirit, believers share in Christ's thinking; as we grow, our thoughts, values, and reactions become more like His.
The lesson: The Gospel is simple, but deep.
It is the power of God, not the preacher's words, that saves a soul.
The Holy Ghost is essential to a Christian life.
Worldly wisdom and spiritual wisdom clash.
Because of God's love, we have been invited to share how Christ thinks, what He values, and how He sees others. Amen.
