Democrats spent four years telling Americans not to believe their own eyes.
Under Joe Biden, the southern border was allowed to spiral into chaos, with millions of illegal border crossings and huge numbers of migrants entering the United States. Cities and states were suddenly forced to absorb new arrivals while American families were already struggling with housing costs, medical bills, taxes, and everyday expenses.
And now Democrats want to lecture the country about affordability?
Are you kidding me?
You cannot dramatically increase the number of people needing housing, health care, schools, transportation, food, and government services without putting additional pressure on systems that were already stretched thin.
Families watched rents and home prices climb. In some communities, hospitals, shelters, schools, and local services faced new strains. Taxpayers saw public money directed toward migrant shelters, meals, transportation, emergency care, legal assistance, and other programs, while many citizens were wondering why their own bills kept going up and their own neighborhoods felt less secure.
And when Americans raised concerns about crime, overcrowding, housing shortages, or the cost of all of this, they were too often dismissed as heartless, extreme, or anti-immigrant.
That is the part Democrats still do not seem to understand.
Americans are not angry because they oppose immigration. They are angry because they expect a country to have a border, laws that mean something, and a government that puts the interests of its own citizens first.
Affordability is not just a campaign slogan. It is whether a working family can buy a house, see a doctor, feel safe in its neighborhood, and keep more of what it earns.
Democrats helped create enormous pressure on all of those things, and now they want to present themselves as the solution.
Spare us the lecture.
