7. Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God. Romans 15:7; KJV. Paul continues his teaching on how the strong should support the weak in faith. Christ is our role model; scripture educates, giving hope and endurance. Christ has united both Jew and Gentile into the family of God. Sharing your faith with others is the Christian life. Do good to others; this is how Christ lived. All scripture was written to teach, comfort, and give hope. Reading God's word gives strength to live for Christ. We are united in Christ; follow His example. When believers walk together in unity, they glorify God together in worship. As Christ received us, we must receive others who come looking for salvation. Paul gives evidence that the Gentiles were part of God's plan in verses 9, 10, 11, and 12: One family, one Savior, one hope. The Christian life is filled with joy, peace, and hope through the Holy Ghost. The lesson: Christ is the model of self-sacrifice. Scripture is your fuel for endurance and hope. God's plan always included everyone. Unity glorifies God. From Him comes everything we need. Your strength was given to you to serve others. Amen.
