12. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.Romans 14:12; KJV. Paul is teaching believers how to live together, especially about things they disagree on: personal convictions, holy days, food restrictions, and individual conscience. We will all give an account to Christ; our sins are forgiven, but we will be accountable for our words and actions. We must shift our focus from judging to protecting each other. We enter heaven because of Jesus, not because of what we eat or drink. The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Unity in Christ is a powerful testimony. Be a peacemaker, not a troublemaker. The lesson: Christ is the Lord, not us. Love is more important than your liberty. Refrain from judgment of believers over minor issues. Pay attention to your conscience, and do not violate someone else's. A peaceful countenance and building up others is a major part of Christian maturity. Amen.
