21. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.Romans 12:21, KJV. Paul shifts from deep doctrine to daily living. All the knowledge of holiness and biblical understanding is useless if not put into daily practice. We are to be a living sacrifice to God; we are to turn from the world's influence and put God first in attitude and priorities. A Christian life begins with a changed mind. The body does what the mind says. Love replaces hate; let your love be sincere and moral. The body has many parts, yet it is one body. The body of Christ has many members and is only one body; each member has a purpose. Age, color, financial status—all are equal in Christ. Compassion builds unity; unity requires humility. A true follower of Christ will be mistreated and spoken against; do not respond in kind. Take the high road. God sees what they do and what they say; trust Him. Here is today's verse, we are to overcome evil with good. The lesson: A Christian life is practical, humble, loving, and active. It is not just believing; it is living differently because Christ has given you a new life with a promised reward. Amen.
