13. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13; KJV. In Romans 10, Paul reveals the simplicity of salvation and the responsibility of sharing the Gospel. Paul prays for his Jewish brothers, caring for them deeply even though they disagree with the gospel. They believe that they can become righteous by their works. But who can forgive sins but Christ Salvation is surrendering to God, knowing that you can never make yourself worthy of Christ's death. Yet receiving forgiveness, pardon, and eternal life, as a free gift from the Son of the Almighty Living God, is very close. Wherever humans have fallen short because of sin, Christ the Savior is greater than the sin. None of us could meet the standards, but Christ did. Salvation is close; the Almighty brought it close in Christ Jesus. Confess and believe, Jesus did the hard part. Salvation is for all, but not all receive. A soul set free from hell will continue to spread the gospel. God makes His message spread, even to those who resist. God's love keeps reaching out. The lesson: Salvation is simple; believe and confess Christ. Salvation is available to all. Righteousness comes by faith, not works. The Gospel must be preached to reach others. God is patient, but you do not know the day or the hour when you shall depart from this world. Today, now is the day of salvation. Amen.
