There, decades of socialist rule have brought a once relatively prosperous and flourishing island to the perpetual brink of disaster, with emiserating poverty, terrible squalor, and awful decay being the norm rather than any sort of generalized prosperityThat's what socialism is, and what socialism means! And make no mistake: socialism can happen here if we let it, and will bring all the same disasters and vices as abroad. That's why we must stop it!
