So what? china uou don't control JAPAN!!
China isn't happy with Japan's growing military buildup.
China has voiced strong objections to Japan's continued increase in defense spending and expansion of its military capabilities, following the release of Tokyo's Defense of Japan 2026 White Paper. The disagreement highlights the growing divide between the two countries over security issues in the Indo-Pacific region.
Japan's report describes the regional security environment as becoming increasingly severe and identifies China as its greatest strategic challenge. It also outlines plans to strengthen long-range strike capabilities, expand deployment of Type 25 anti-ship missiles, continue research on hypersonic weapons, invest more in artificial intelligence and unmanned systems, and boost cooperation with private industry to support defense development.
Beijing rejected those assessments, arguing that Japan is exaggerating regional security concerns to justify a larger military. Chinese Defense Ministry spokesperson Chen Xi said China's military modernization is intended to safeguard its national sovereignty and criticized what Beijing views as Japan's continued military buildup. China also reiterated that the Taiwan issue remains one of its core interests and warned against outside interference.
Japan, however, maintains that its defense policies are driven by an increasingly complex security environment. Tokyo has pointed to North Korea's missile program, China's expanding military activities, and broader security challenges across the Indo-Pacific as reasons for strengthening its deterrence and defense capabilities.
The exchange reflects the deep differences in how Beijing and Tokyo view regional security. As both countries continue to defend their positions, the debate over military spending and strategic preparedness is likely to remain one of the most closely watched issues in the Asia-Pacific region.
