🥶 Winter 2026–2027 Outlook: Could This Be a Winter to Remember? ❄️
The latest long-range CFS Model guidance continues to hint at the potential for a much colder-than-average pattern developing across a large part of the central and eastern United States this winter. While it’s far too early to call this a forecast, it’s definitely a signal that’s worth watching as we head deeper into August.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be comparing this data with additional seasonal models, teleconnections, analog years, and evolving ENSO conditions to see if this colder trend continues to strengthen—or if it begins to fade.
Remember: This is model guidance only, not an official winter forecast. My official SnowbirdBob Weather Winter Outlook is still coming later this month, and we’ll be digging much deeper into the snow potential, temperature trends, and storm tracks.
Do you think we’re headed for a harsh winter, or will this signal change? Let me know where you’re watching from and what you’re hoping for this winter! 👇❄️
