No living person today should be forced to pay for the crimes of ancestors long dead. Slavery was abolished more than a century and a half ago after a brutal war that cost hundreds of thousands of American lives. Assigning guilt and financial penalties by skin color in the present only tears the country further apart.Real advancement comes through personal effort, education, and equal rules that apply to everyone. Millions of families from every background have risen by their own determination without demanding payment for history they never lived.Taking money from current workers to settle old scores creates resentment, not justice. The focus belongs on opportunity, responsibility, and unity under the law rather than perpetual claims based on race.
