News footage from the scene outside the Bordertown home of Kate McClure and her boyfriend Mark D’Amico shows a tow truck hauling away a brand new black BMW.The raid occurred one day after McClure and D’Amico failed to show up at a court hearing to explain what they did with the cash.Superior Court Judge Paula Dow ordered the couple to appear for a deposition on Monday, Sept. 10, to explain what they did with the money.A lawyer who appeared in court on Wednesday to represent McClure claimed he did not receive enough information to explain what happened to the money.The ordeal began last October when Johnny Bobbitt, center, gave his last $20 to McClure after her car ran out of gas and she was stranded.McClure and D’Amico repaid Bobbit’s generosity by creating a GoFundMe account with the original stated goal of $10,000. But news coverage of the story went viral and the donations swelled to over $400,000.The couple is accused of raiding the account and spending most of the donations to enrich their lifestyles.GoFundMe is reportedly investigating the theft.
