44. And it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.Acts 27:44; KJV. After 14 nights in the storm, Paul and the sailors find they are getting close to land as the sea depth is shallower. Sailors drop anchors to slow the ship, and a few, pretending to set anchors, try to flee in the lifeboat. Paul warns that unless they all stay together, they will perish. So the guards cut the ropes to the boats. Paul urges them to be of good cheer and eat something because God keeps His promises. God is protecting 276 people on board because of Paul. The ship hits a sandbar and breaks apart. The guards would have killed the prisoners, but the centurion stops them, wanting to save Paul. We come to today's verse: all made it safely to land. The lesson: God keeps His promises, even if your ship breaks apart. Storms reveal character; some flee, some trust, some lead. Paul's faith, actions, prayers, and leadership made God's saving protection available. God saves your body so He can save your soul. Amen.
