28. Then Agrippa said to Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. Acts 26:28; KJV. King Agrippa II, with his wife Bernice, are asked by Festus to hear Paul's defense. Festus is hoping Agrippa will tell him what charges to write when he sends Paul to Caesar. Paul, in his defense, admits he was a Pharisee who persecuted the church unto death. He reveals his conversion on the road to Damascus and his preaching the Gospel of Christ's life, death, and resurrection. At this point, Agrippa utters the saddest words in the Bible, "Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian." The lesson: Your testimony is as powerful as Paul's. The Gospel is rooted in scripture. If Paul can be converted, so can you. Truth is not madness, and obedience brings courage. "Almost" is not enough; you are either all in or you are out. God does not reward half measures. Amen.
