If Socialism was a Beer. One cartoon, one glass, and the whole story is right there on the bar.Take a good look at what the bartender is handing over. A tall glass, filled to the brim, and nearly all of it is foam. Down at the very bottom sits a thin little layer of real beer. That is socialism in one picture. Loud presentation, lots of froth, and almost nothing worth drinking.Socialism always sells itself on equality. But this is equality in nothing. Everyone lines up for the same glass, everyone gets the same empty pour, and everyone walks away just as thirsty. The only person who stays full is the one working the tap. In the real world, that is the government. And here is the part they never put on the poster. It will not even be good beer. When one boss controls every barrel, quality stops mattering. There is no competition, no reason to try, no pride in the product. You get whatever is cheapest, bottom of the barrel, watered down, and handed to you with a shrug because you have nowhere else to go.It all sounds fine at first. Free drinks for everybody. But somebody has to brew that beer, and somebody has to pay for it. Those people are the workers, the earners, the builders. When they get tapped out, or pack up and move somewhere the glass is honest, the whole thing runs dry. Then what is left. No full glasses. No good beer. No piece of anything to hold onto. Just a room full of thirsty people staring at foam and wondering where the promise went. That is the trick. Socialism does not lift everyone up. It levels everyone down, and then calls the shortage fair. Everyone is oppressed, and the only one smiling is the man behind the tap.
