14. The will of the Lord be done.Acts 21:14; KJV. In these 17 verses, Paul has traveled on a ship to Tyre and stayed with disciples for 7 days. By the Spirit, they warned Paul that he should not go to Jerusalem. From there, after praying with believers, he took another ship to Ptolemais and stayed 1 day. Next, Paul traveled to Caesarea, entering the house of Philip the evangelist, who had 4 daughters who prophesied. While staying there for many days, a prophet named Agabus told Paul, "The Jews will arrest you and turn you over to the Gentiles." All those who cared for Paul asked him not to go. Paul replied, "Do not cry for me; it breaks my heart. I am ready to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus." And the people said, "The will of the Lord be done." The lesson: Obedience may lead to suffering. Love may interfere with the will of God. Safety is not necessarily God's will, and danger or hard times do not mean being outside of God's will. A powerful message, the correct response to the coming of trouble: "The Lord's will be done." Amen.
