They told you Trump only fights for the rich.
Then he signed a law that cut taxes for the waitress carrying a tray, the welder pulling a double shift, and the grandmother living on her Social Security check.
And when it came time to vote, Democrats in Congress said no. Not some of them. All of them.
The One Big Beautiful Bill delivered no taxes on tips, no taxes on overtime, and wiped out Social Security taxes for the vast majority of seniors. These are not Wall Street perks. There are no tips on Wall Street. Nobody in a corner office fills out an overtime slip.
These cuts were aimed straight at the people who get up early, stay late, and keep this country running.
Here is the good news. The law passed anyway. Working Americans are keeping more of what they earn right now, this year, on this tax return.
But the vote is on the record, and the record matters.
Democrats can give speeches about the little guy from now until Election Day.
Speeches are free. Votes are what count. When the little guy's tax cut was sitting on the House floor, every single Democrat lined up against it.
The Founders built Congress so the people could see exactly who stands where. No hiding, no fog, just a roll call with names attached. That transparency is a gift, and we should use it.
So the next time someone tells you only one party cares about working families, do not argue. Just show them the vote.
The waitress keeps her tips. The welder keeps his overtime. Grandma keeps her check. That happened, and it happened over the loud and unanimous objection of the party that claims to speak for all three.
Actions are the only speech that matters in Washington.
