He said he sees a need to develop a better cultural and historic understanding of Islam to counter anti-Muslim sentiments that is based on biases and stereotypes. “The understanding and education around Islam and Muslim culture needs to start happening at schools in the social studies curriculum and the history curriculum,” said Farhan Memon, executive director of the Council on American Islamic Relations Connecticut. Having a curriculum available is “a positive sign” toward countering those trends, Memon said. Syed said he believes there is still a “great deal of misunderstanding about Islam.” He said he believes teaching and learning about Islam and Arabic cultures are “absolutely appropriate.” Memon said his organization will work with SDE to make sure that Muslim communities have input into the created Islamic curriculum.One of the issues now is that current textbooks “present a highly biased view of Islam and Muslims as well,” he said. “We want to make sure that as the state fulfills its mandate to create this curriculum, that it’s done with a view that’s not only accurate, but also ensures that we’re not introducing new biases into the curriculum at the same time,” Memon said. 👉JESUS REVEALS ALLAH OF ISLAM IS THE BEAST“I SAW A BEAST COMING OUT OF THE SEA” 👉Revelation 13:1-2 (NIV)🔹️1.
