•A Prayer for Abundant Life•
By Anthony Valente
👉 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
(John 10:10)
We may have a small idea for our lives, a picture of a so-called American Dream or a pre-constructed plan to live out, but God has so much more in store for us. That is the idea of abundant life that Christ came to give. It is more than we can imagine and fulfills the deepest parts of our aching hearts. It’s Christ Himself.
In John 10:10, Jesus says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”
Jesus came to give us life. Not only that, he came to give us a life that is rich and full, a satisfying life.
Are you unsatisfied today? Are you looking for something to fill you?
He is the living water that always satisfies. Jesus met a Samaritan woman at the well and told her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:13-14)
In Jesus, we find the abundant life we have been looking for. He is the source of our salvation and through Him, we receive the Holy Spirit. Use this prayer each day as you seek out God's gifts of hope, prosperity and a future!
🙏 Dear Lord Jesus,
I think of the words of Jesus, that he came to give life that satisfies. I confess that I have been trying to find things of this world to satisfy me and they aren’t working. Lord, I believe that You alone can do that, that You have already done that.
Lord, I thank You for freeing me, freeing me from the chains that bound me, from trying to keep up with this world, from the law of sin and death. Lord, because You have freed me, I can experience abundant life.
Because You have set me free, Lord, I can have a new perspective. I am thankful for Your gift of salvation, for eternal life. I am grateful for the inheritance You have given me. I am thankful that I can communicate with You and can experience the beauty of Your presence.
Lord, I thank You for sending the Holy Spirit, who guides me and reveals wisdom. Thank You for this “deposit guaranteeing our inheritance,” who reminds me that we are sons and daughters of God. (Ephesians 1:14) I thank You that he leads me to minister to others, to help free them from their chains and offer them this same abundant life.
God, help me to remember these promises when the world looks more appealing or I get distracted by things going on around me. Help me not to envy those who seem to have it all. Lord, I have it all, because of You.
I thank You for the eternal inheritance You have given me and that one day, I can enjoy the beauty of Your Kingdom and Your presence forever.
In Jesus’ name,
AMEN 🙏
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
(Matthew 6:33)
You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.
(Psalm 16:11)
I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
(Galatians 2:20)
Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.”
(Luke 6:38)
Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.
(James 1:17)
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
(Romans 12:2)
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit.
(Ephesians 5:18)
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
(Jeremiah 29:11)
And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
(Isaiah 58:11)
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
(Romans 8:26)
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

(John 14:6)
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.
(John 15:7-8)
But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
(John 10:11)
(pic verse)
Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.
(Colossians 3:12-13)
