So the same MusIim mayor who told the entire city of NY to stop using their air-conditioning is now reporting an outbreak of legionnaires disease. When you import a Third World mayor, you get Third World results… here’s a little something to know about legionnaires:
An unused or infrequently used AC unit (especially one connected to a cooling tower or evaporative system) can increase the risk of Legionella growth and potentially trigger Legionnaires’ disease outbreaks. Stagnation is one of the biggest triggers per cdc.gov
Why Unused Systems Are Risky
When an AC/cooling system sits idle:
• Water becomes stagnant (“water age” increases) — This allows Legionella to multiply.
• Disinfectant levels drop — Chlorine or other biocides break down over time, removing a key protection.
• Temperatures shift into the ideal growth range (77–113°F / 25–45°C) as water sits without circulation or temperature control.
• Biofilm and sediment build up — Providing food and shelter for bacteria.
This is a well-documented issue during building shutdowns, seasonal off-periods, or low occupancy. When the system is turned back on, contaminated water can aerosolize and spread the bacteria.
Gee whiz. You get what you vote for.
And the make matters worse, he’s got Mo, Larry, and Curley warning residents.
