#BreakingNews A DC grand jury has just INDICTED former Olympian David Hearn with a FELONY for reaching into the Lincoln Reflecting Pool
#DC
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced that felony charges are being filed against the people accused of vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C.
The charges target tampering with the newly renovated national landmark on the National Mall.
A grand jury indictedDavid Hearn, 67, of Bethesda, Maryland, on felony destruction of government property counts after he reached into the pool and "used two hands to violently pull the sealant off the bottom of the pool causing damage"
Video and witness accounts said he was Belligerent and rude even asking a Park Service member 'why do you care so much' when she told him to stop destroying the pool.
He initially received a misdemeanor citation, but prosecutors upgraded the case to felony level through grand jury indictment.
Hearn is scheduled to appear in D.C. Superior Court.
Pirro says they have half a dozen other cases, and are reviewing those cases based on the evidence.
“Anyone who is in a position of vandalizing or attempting to vandalize the Reflecting Pool will face the criminal justice system in D.C.,” she said. “Look, the president has made it a priority to make D.C. not only safe, but beautiful.”
"I went to the pull, and you can actually see where someone cut the knife, its really sad. What we are trying to do is find out who did it."
"DC monuments and landmarks must be protected"
"There was tremendous damage that was caused"
