15. And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.Acts 11:15; KJV. Peter here is telling the converted Jews in Jerusalem what happened to the Gentiles because they were upset that Peter had entered and eaten in the Gentiles' home. Peter explains that if God gave the Holy Ghost to the Gentiles, who was he to resist? Then they held their peace and glorified God. Now, after the death of Stephen, the believers scattered to other countries, but they only preached to Jews. But some began preaching to the Greeks in Antioch, and the hand of the Lord was with them, and many believed. So the church in Jerusalem sent Barnabas, a good man, full of the Holy Ghost, to Antioch to seek Saul. And the disciples were first called Christians at Antioch, but this was more of a slur than a compliment. And Agabus, a prophet, signified by God's Spirit that there would be a great famine throughout the known world, which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar. And the disciples sent relief to Judea, as did Saul and Barnabas. The lessons learned: God breaks the barrier of division between Jew and Gentile; God is building one family in Christ. We ought not to resist what God has blessed. Love extends to all believers; the Gentile believers sent aid to the converted Jews in Judea. Christian is not a title; it is a way of life that conforms to the ways of Christ Jesus. It is a dangerous thing if you say you "are" a Christian, but no one sees Christ in you. Amen.
