SOUTH DAKOTA GIVES SCOTT PRESLER THE BOOTCartoon Published 06/27/2026Scott Presler, the hardest-working man in the grassroots—the guy who actually registers voters and gets results—showed up to the South Dakota GOP Convention Dinner with a paid ticket in hand. What did he get? A one-way ticket out the door, courtesy of a raging Sergeant-at-Arms who couldn’t wait to tell him to “Get the hell outta here!”Even the presidents on Mount Rushmore were embarrassed for these clowns. This wasn’t some random bouncer having a bad day. Presler has been out there hammering Senate Majority Leader John Thune to actually do something on the SAVE America Act — voter ID, proof of citizenship, basic election integrity that 80+% of Americans support. Thune’s response? Hide behind his staff, have his people allegedly print up a “WANTED” poster of Presler to make sure he didn’t get in, and sic the door goons on him.Thune’s comms team immediately went into full cover up mode, calling it all a “categorical lie,” but there’s a video that showed the Sergeant-at-Arms admitting Thune’s request. The SD GOP Chairman himself confirmed the request came from the top. The poster with Presler’s face was spotted inside. But yeah, totally unrelated. Totally. The backlash hit like a freight train, as it should. Presler handled it with class — he live streamed the whole humiliating moment and let the video do the talking. MAGA world lit up. Within hours, the South Dakota GOP was in damage-control mode.Chairman Jim Eschenbaum dropped a public apology on X, saying he was sorry for how it was handled and that Matt Bruner had been relieved of his duties as Sergeant-at-Arms. They moved fast— but not because they suddenly grew a conscience. They moved fast because the internet (along with Mount Rushmore) were already roasting them alive.Firing the fall guy and issuing a half-hearted “oops, our bad” apology doesn’t erase the core problem: The establishment is terrified of actual grassroots conservatives who show up, pay for tickets, and demand results, not excuses. Thune wants to play the cool and collected “institutionalist” while his home-state party treats one of the movement’s most effective organizers like a leper. All because Presler had the audacity to push for an election integrity bill that Thune apparently finds too inconvenient. Not cool, Thune. Not cool at all. Mount Rushmore sees you. The base sees you. And the more you try to silence the people who actually deliver wins, the more obvious it becomes whose side you’re really on. Keep pushing, Scott. The RINOs can kick you out of their little dinner parties, but they can’t kick you out of the fight. ~Ben Garrison & The GrrrTeam
