22. But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.Acts 9:22; KJV. Saul, growing spiritually daily, proves from the scriptures that Jesus is truly the promised Messiah. And after several days, the Jews plot to kill him because he threatened their religious system. Saul is saved by the disciples and came to Jerusalem to join the other disciples who feared him because he had persecuted the church. Now Barnabas, a trusted follower of Jesus, brought Saul to the apostles and explained how Jesus had appeared to him on his way to Damascus, and had spoken to him, and how Saul now boldly preached salvation through Christ Jesus. And Saul was with them in Jerusalem, preaching Christ and disputing with the Grecians, who sought to slay him, but the brethren took Saul to Tarsus. And the church had rest throughout the region, walking in the fear of the Lord, multiplying, in the comfort of the Holy Ghost. The lessons learned: faith brings opposition but also supernatural protection. God uses believers in extraordinary ways. The gospel spreads through transformed lives more than through arguments. Amen.
