THE ENEMY UNDER MY FEET
By @ChristianAIArt
"And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen." — Romans 16:20
The enemy wants you to believe that you are defeated, overwhelmed, and powerless. But God's Word tells a different story. The battle may be fierce, the pressure may be real, and the attacks may be relentless, but the enemy was never meant to reign over your life. Through Jesus Christ, God has already declared where the enemy belongs—under your feet.
The devil's greatest weapon has always been deception. He wants believers to focus on the size of their problems instead of the greatness of their God. Yet throughout Scripture, we see a God who consistently turns impossible situations into testimonies of His power and faithfulness.
When Adam and Eve fell in the Garden, it seemed as though darkness had won. But even in that moment, God released a promise of victory. Genesis 3:15 declared that the seed of the woman would crush the serpent's head. From the very beginning, God announced the enemy's defeat.
That promise found its fulfillment in Jesus Christ. At the cross, what looked like a moment of defeat became the greatest victory in history. Jesus conquered sin, death, and the powers of darkness. The enemy may have bruised His heel, but Christ crushed his head forever.
Many believers live beneath battles they were called to rise above. They carry fear, anxiety, guilt, and shame on their shoulders when God has already placed those enemies under their feet. What God has defeated, you do not have to surrender to.
Jesus reinforced this truth when He said in Luke 10:19, "Behold, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you." Christ did not give His followers a spirit of fear. He gave them authority.
Authority is not based on how strong you feel. Authority is based on who stands behind you. A police officer can stop traffic not because of personal strength, but because the authority of the law stands behind him. Likewise, believers walk in the authority of Christ Himself.
The enemy trembles when a child of God understands their position in Christ. Satan's strategy is to keep believers focused on their weaknesses, failures, and fears. God's strategy is to remind believers of His victory.
The battlefield may surround you, but remember that the outcome has already been determined. The same God who parted the Red Sea, shut the mouths of lions, and raised Jesus from the dead is fighting for you today.
Psalm 91:13 declares, "You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot." Notice the picture God gives. The believer is not running from the serpent. The believer is standing in victory over it.
There will be seasons when the enemy attacks your faith, your family, your peace, and your purpose. In those moments, do not magnify the attack. Magnify the God who has already overcome every attack.
The cross was not merely an event of redemption; it was a declaration of victory. Every nail, every drop of blood, and every moment of suffering pointed toward the triumph of God's eternal plan. Jesus did not die as a victim. He died as the victorious King.
Colossians 2:15 reveals this victory beautifully: "Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it." The powers of darkness were stripped of their ultimate authority through the finished work of Christ.
Today, whatever enemy stands before you—fear, doubt, discouragement, temptation, opposition, or uncertainty—remember where God says it belongs. Not above you. Not beside you. Under your feet.
Walk forward with confidence. Pray with boldness. Stand with faith. The battle belongs to the Lord, and the victory belongs to those who trust in Him. The enemy's roar may be loud, but the voice of God is greater. Through Jesus Christ, the enemy is under your feet.
