Another good man gone too soon.
Massachusetts State Trooper Kevin Trainor, 30, was heading home after a shift when he spotted a wrong way driver tearing down Route 1 in Lynnfield around 2 a.m. on May 6. He moved to stop the threat. One minute later a head on crash ended his life.
Trainor had already served as a corrections officer before joining the 88th Recruit Troop with the Massachusetts State Police. He mentored rookies, worked the Community Action Team, and carried himself like the backup every cop wants.
His bosses called him a hero who likely saved lives that night by stepping into the path of danger.
He leaves behind his mother Barbara, his fiancée Jessica Ostrowski, and his siblings. Salem raised him. The Commonwealth lost one of its best.
These are the men who keep the rest of us safe while the rest of the country argues over nothing. Honor the fallen. Remember their names.
Trooper Kevin Trainor. End of watch May 6, 2026.
