Mullin Torches DeLauro's Hypocrisy: "450,000 Kids Lost Under Biden — You Said Nothing"
In a fiery House committee hearing on June 25, 2026, DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin didn't hold back when Rep. Rosa DeLauro tried to lecture him on family separations.
DeLauro kicked off with a smug analogy: "You know, when you take your clothes to the cleaners, they give you a tag and you then go back and you retrieve your clothes. When you take luggage, you go and your luggage is returned."
Mullin shot back instantly: "I wish the Biden administration would have done that."
DeLauro pressed on, claiming, "3,900 children were separated from their families."
Mullin unloaded: "450,000 kids were lost under the Biden administration. You didn't say a word about it."
As DeLauro interrupted and pointed her finger, Mullin fired again: "Don't you point your finger at me. Don't be a hypocrite... You should be as upset about the 450,000 kids that were lost. You didn't say a word about it. For four years you never said a word."
The exchange turned chaotic. DeLauro demanded, "Mr. Secretary, could you put him in his place," only for Mullin to retort: "Don't yell at me. You should be put in your place."
DeLauro kept yelling about not being accused of lying. Mullin stayed on target, refusing to let her dodge the Biden-era disaster where nearly half a million unaccompanied minors were simply lost track of by federal agencies.
DeLauro tried to pivot to her "long history" on the issue and Trump-era separations, but the numbers told the real story: a few thousand under one policy versus hundreds of thousands vanished under open-border chaos she and her party enabled and ignored.
