Do you know why Muslims go to Mecca? One major reason is to kiss the Black Stone. They strongly believe that the stone has the power to forgive their sins.Many people know this ritual makes no sense. Yet, they do it because Muhammad started it. Do not forget Muhammad’s history. His grandfather was an idol worshiper. He handed these traditions down to Muhammad’s father, and ultimately to Muhammad. Muhammad family were part of those who built the idols temple”Kaaba”. In fact when they were rebuilding it,Muhammad was part and was seen naked that day. (Sahih al-Bukhari 3829 ) One of Muhammad’s disciples by the name Ibn Umar one day went to kiss the stone, and said to the stone “I know that you are just a powerless stone but I am also kissing you because I saw Muhammad kissing you” He knew well that it was just a useless stone. However, because he saw Muhammad kiss it, he did the same(copy cut).Who knows, MAYBE he was just afraid that if he doesn’t do it, his head will be gone. Read Sahih Muslim 1270 Now,do you know that, majority of Muslims pay huge amount of money to visit Mecca just to kiss this same powerless stone? Some even believe that, in case they are kpai in the process they are going straight to paradise.
