25. Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?
Acts 4:25; KJV.
Peter and John, having been released by the chief priests and rulers, returned to the other believers.
Telling them all what happened and what they experienced while preaching Christ.
And they prayed together, at the report, giving praise to God the Creator.
We come to today's verse: Herod, Pontius Pilate, the Gentiles, and the Jews all united against Christ the Lord.
And they prayed, not to remove the threat, but to be given courage and to continue healing and doing miracles in the name of Jesus.
The Apostles, by the grace of God, continued with powerful preaching about Jesus and His resurrection. And the believers cared for each other as one family.
The lesson here: when there is trouble, pray. God is greater than any threat.
Persecution cannot stop the Gospel.
Unity is a work of the Spirit, along with power, generosity, and leadership.
God works in every believer. Amen.
