As we approach America’s 250th birthday this Fourth of July, this should be more than fireworks, cookouts, and a long weekend.
It should be a solemn day of remembrance.
We celebrate the birth of the United States of America, but we should also pause to remember the men and women who carried this nation forward — the Founders who pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor; the soldiers who never came home; the families who paid the price in silence; and those who still stand watch today.
The recent loss of these airmen reminds us that freedom is not an old slogan. It is a living responsibility, often carried by people most Americans will never meet.
So I’ll ask the public here:
What does America’s 250th birthday mean to you personally?
Is this still the land of liberty our Founders intended?
How do we teach the next generation to honor this country, defend its freedoms, and remember the cost?
Drop your thoughts below. Keep it respectful. This is one of those moments where Americans ought to stop, think, and speak plainly.
God bless the fallen. God bless their families. And God bless the United States of America.
Biblical principle: A nation must remember the sacrifices that preserved it. “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” — John 15:13, KJV. May we celebrate liberty with gratitude, not forgetfulness.
