Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the U.S. has revoked the green cards of Seyed Eissa Hashemi, Maryam Tahmasebi, and their son, relatives of Iranian politician Masoumeh Ebtekar, known as “Screaming Mary” for her role in the 1979 Iran hostage crisis. The family is now in ICE custody pending removal. Rubio said they entered on visas in 2014 and received green cards through the Diversity Visa Program in 2016.
