14. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
John 15:14.
Jesus says there is no greater love than giving your life for a friend.
Love is a sacrifice; it costs something. It is giving yourself for the good of others.
Jesus called everyone who obeyed Him with a willing heart His friend.
Jesus elevated His servants to a relationship of friends because He shared His Father's plans with them, taking them out of the dark and revealing God's heart, God's will, and God's purpose through the words He spoke.
We did not choose Jesus; He chose us, and He expects changed hearts, godly character, love, and for us to share this change with others.
Do not expect to be treated better than Jesus was.
They hated Him without cause; all He did was tell the truth, heal the sick, bring life in place of death, and rebuke sin.
Jesus is very clear in verse 23, in His words, "Anyone who hates Me also hates My Father."
To reject Jesus is to reject His Father who sent Him.
Jesus and the Father are united as one. Amen.
