God IsExodus 3:14 “And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.” Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” It does not require our faith for God to exist. God exists whether one believes in His existence or not. Before there was a world and people God already was. The children of Israel believed in God’s existence but Moses feared they would not trust his authority to lead them out of Egypt. So Moses asked God for a name. Exodus 3:13“And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?” Interestingly but profoundly God answered, “I AM”. The Hebrew word just simply means exist. God is and always is. “I do not represent what merely WAS or WILL BE but Him who forever IS.” In the book of Hebrews we read that “he that cometh to God must believe that he is”. We also read that those who by faith come unto God believing He is, will be rewarded for their faith. Then beginning with Noah we read example after example of those rewarded for their faith coming unto God believing He is. I am glad my faith tells me God is.
