Are you okay with convicted felony animal abusers ever owning pets again?Rep. Greg Steube has introduced the LEASH Act, which would permanently ban convicted felony animal abusers from ever owning or caring for animals again. The bill would also create a nationwide, publicly accessible database of felony animal cruelty offenders, so these people can’t just move somewhere else and quietly get another pet.Steube said: “Animal cruelty is barbaric and too often ignored.”He says this bill is about holding offenders accountable, protecting innocent animals, and stopping repeat abuse before it happens again.I think this is common sense. If someone is convicted of felony animal abuse, they should lose the privilege of owning animals for life.
