32. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
John 12:32.
In these 12 verses, with Jesus so close to His death, He reveals His death, how and why.
The cross is God's verdict on the world, its sin, rebellion, and rejection of God.
The cross shows the world is wicked, killing the Son of God.
Satan will be defeated; his power will be broken, having no power over life, death, or eternity.
Jesus is saying, "By My death, the world's evil is being judged."
Jesus says, "When He is lifted up from the earth," meaning the Cross, "His death will draw believers from every place on earth."
Jesus, the Light of the World, has come to rescue us from the darkness of sin and judgment, drawing us into the Light, making us children of the Most High God.
Isaiah 53, truly says few will believe; many shall see the works of God through Jesus but will refuse to believe He is the Christ, the Savior of the world.
Isaiah continues, this is because for all they see and hear, their continued refusal has blinded their spiritual sight.
So they can no longer respond in faith and be healed.
Others, even the leaders, believed but would not admit it publicly because of their fear of losing their place in religious and social circles.
And the rest refused the Salvation of God because they loved the approval of mankind over God's approval of them.
This is a heart issue, which caused them to keep their faith secret, and they would not follow Jesus.
In verse 36, it says, "Jesus hid Himself." There is a sense of withdrawal from those who would never change, and a truth that as He leaves, the window of opportunity is closing.
Step into His Light while you have time; you will never regret it. Amen.
