10. But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;John 12:10. Jesus is in Bethany, having dinner with Lazarus. Mary takes the expensive ointment and anoints Jesus' feet. Now the people came around Jesus, not to hear Him, but to see Lazarus, who was raised from death. We come to today's verse: the religious leaders seek to murder Lazarus, who has done nothing, because he is living proof that Jesus has power over death. Jesus is now coming to the time to give Himself for all mankind, Jew and Gentile alike. As a seed is planted in the ground and grows, creating many more seeds. Christ died and was buried, and rose from death, making the way for all who follow Him to rise from death because of His sacrifice. Saying, "All who follow Me shall be where I am, and all who serve Me, them will My Father honor." Amen.
