Border Czar Tom Homan just made it crystal clear: the hunger strikes being pushed and celebrated by the left are NOT changing ICE policy, and they are NOT resulting in any changes or releases.
Homan said ICE will continue arresting and detaining illegal immigrants regardless of protests or pressure campaigns.
He also confirmed the federal government is expanding detention capacity with thousands of new federally owned beds and facilities, specifically to avoid interference from local politicians trying to block immigration enforcement.
According to Homan:
• Hunger strikes “never work”
• ICE will not release detainees because of them
• Enforcement operations will continue
• Federal detention infrastructure is growing nationwide
Homan even stated that if detainees place themselves in serious medical danger, the government can seek court orders for forced feeding to preserve life.
His message was simple: immigration laws will continue to be enforced, and political pressure tactics will not stop deportation operations or detention expansion.
Whether people agree with him or not, this signals the administration is doubling down on long-term federal immigration enforcement infrastructure rather than backing away from it.
