I FEEL SO LUCKY TO HAVE ONE OF THESE FLYING AROUND FOR AT LEAST THE LAST FOUR YEARS. IT'S ONE OF THE LARGEST I'VE EVER SEEN. IT'S AT LEAST TWO FEET FROM HEAD TO TAIL. A PILEATED WOODPECKER, SHOULDN'T EVEN BE IN THIS PART OF UNITED STATES. ALSO VERY DIFFICULT TO GET A PICTURE OF.

Black sheep
Had a momma and daddy at our property for years. Then eventually just had daddy. Now he seems to be gone too. But loved seeing them 50’ away from the back deck for so many years. So amazing to watch!
