THE DUMOCRATS Cartoon published 05/21/2026 President Trump has christened the Democrats with a new nickname, “The Dumocrats.” Socialism has become fashionable among Democrats. Never mind that socialism has never worked—currently Cuba and Venezuela are proof of that—but Democrats are militantly ignorant about history. Under the Socialist Democrat Party, what’s yours belongs to everyone. Individuals become tax slaves. Socialists love to break the chain linking effort and reward. The drug-addicted homeless need not work at all—their drugs, shelter, food, and clothing are provided to them by means of socialism. In the west coast blue states, socialism is driving away businesses. In Gavin Newsom’s California, Tesla, SpaceX, Oracle, and Chevron have escaped to red states such as Texas, Tennessee, and Florida. Seattle’s socialist mayor, Katie Wilson, is driving out landmark companies such as Starbucks with her gigantic tax hikes. Her solution wasn’t to lower her taxes to keep them to stay—oh no—she instead urged consumers to boycott Starbucks. Other companies that left her state include Amazon and Boeing. Socialists invariably know little about how businesses work. Washington State enacted an income tax aimed at millionaires and yes, there is a provision that allows them to soon tax lesser earners. Other taxes will not go away, of course, and new ones may be on the horizon. Like California has proposed, will Washington also charge an ‘exit tax’ on businesses that are moving out of state? Also, that income tax was brought about due to a declared ‘emergency,’ and the voters had no say. Socialists love power. Castro said, “Voting? What for?” Alexandria Ocasio Cortez said the rich did not ‘earn’ their fortune, but rather they ’stole’ it from wage earners. The fact that many became millionaires or even billionaires in the first place by risking money to build businesses that created jobs does not register with her. Her friend and fellow socialist, Bernie Sanders, agrees. He too wants to heavily tax wealth and redistribute it. Redistribution decisions are the source of a socialist politician’s power. Oh wait—Bernie is worth $3 million and owns two homes. He needs to cough up his riches and give it to the poor who need free stuff! Sadly, he won’t do that any more than Stalin would have given up his luxurious dacha. Then there is the proud, smiling, and vociferous Mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani. He wants to tax the rich even more than the high taxes they are already coughing up. Now they are leaving and Zohran wants them to stay. How else will he get money for his state-run grocery stores and free bus rides? Bezos told Mamdani that taxing him more will not improve education alluding that their education system is broken. Under Democrats, many kids are illiterate when they graduate high school. Bezos told Mamdani that he already pays billions in taxes, but doubling them again will not help teachers in queens because that money would be wasted due to mismanagement at NYC schools. Mamdani retorted that he disagrees. Keep on trying socialism until it works! It can’t work and it never has. Socialism is a pipe dream. The lessons of history have proved it time and time again, and now it’s time for Democrats to relearn that lesson—but at what cost to the country? They certainly are ‘The Dumocrats.” — The GrrrTeam
